Health and Wellness in 2024
Here's a few simple ways to make sure you are not neglecting your health in 2024.
Take your vitamins - It does not have to be fancy, It can be a daily multivitamin or you can have a cute care/of vitamin set made for you. From experience, it can be hard to live a full life when your body may be lacking essential vitamins for energy or focus. Take a vitamin ladies it's 2023!
Eat fermented foods - In case you were unaware fermented foods are super beneficial to your gut health which affects your digestive system and your brain. Try kimchi or make it at home, eat more yogurt, drink kombucha more often, eat sourdough bread, and buy more pickled vegetables.
Read at least 1x a week - and it doesn't have to be a self-help book! Enjoy a novel, sci-fi thriller, or murder mystery. Regular reading adds years to your life, reduces stress, and improves cognitive function. I know it's much easier to scroll on Ig or throw on the TV especially if you have challenging days and want to relax, but I must encourage you to continue reading as an adult.
Cook with lots of herbs and spices - herbs and spices are super beneficial to your body, they protect us from illness. They contain vitamins and antioxidants, and they are anti-inflammatory. Including a wide range of herbs and spices in your cooking can help you battle colds, flu, stress, anxiety, bloating, and more. Some of my favorites to keep and use daily are fresh garlic, turmeric, ginger, rosemary, and basil.
Take the stairs - this one is pretty self-explanatory, take the stairs instead of an elevator. Overall let's try to be a bit more active each day. Instead of circling the parking lot for a closer spot, park a little further and walk for a minute or two. Your body will thank you and you'll save some more time.
Let's try and start off 2024 on the right healthy path, with small changes toward making a big difference.
